Last year for Valentines day I wanted to have an extra special and sensual night for my self and my husband and we had a really great one and its all because of the black sheets!  It was about a week before Valentines day when I started planning our romantic night with the help of a friend of mine.  So first we decided that my husband and I would go out to dinner at this really nice and new restaurant that was in the next town over and then go to a hotel for the night.  But we wanted to add a twist to it all.  So we planned that on Valentines day that she and I would go and rent the hotel room and decorate it.  We bought all sorts of fun and romantic things, from candles to bottles of wine, and even a blind fold for my husband to wear on the way to the restaurant and then to the hotel so that he had no idea where he was.

On the big day everything seemed to be going as planned.  We made the reservations at the restaurant and explained to them that he would be blind folded coming into and leaving the restaurant (which they thought was a fun idea) and then we went to the hotel to start decorating.  The room was very nice and even had an oversized Jacuzzi tub in it.  But once we had the room decorated there was one thing that stuck out like an eye sore.  The bed.  It was so ugly and didn’t give off that romantic feeling that I was going for.  We even tried pulling the blanket down and putting rose petals on it but that just made it worse.  I blankly stared at my friend and had no idea what to do.  I could just feel my whole romantic night falling apart just a few hours before it was going to happen.

Then she looked at me and stated that we needed to go back to the store because she had an idea.  I was so lost and I didn’t know what else to do, so I went with her.  Standing there in the isle of the store she picked up a nice set of black sheets and a black and red comforter that was reversible.  I wasn’t feeling very confident so I just went along with it and back to the hotel we went.  We striped the white sheets and funny patterned comforter off the bed and put the black sheets on the bed as well as the new comforter and then sprinkled a few of the rose petals on the bed.  The black sheets made all the difference!  I had never seen such a romantic room in my life.
